Established in 2001 with an intake of 120 students  Viswajyothi  College of Engineering and Technology (VJCET) has emerged as one of the prestigious first grade Engineering Colleges of the country with a total student strength of 2148. Viswajyothi has flourished under the able leadership of the Catholic  Diocese of Kothamangalam. With its vision  “ Moulding Professionals   par excellence with integrity fairness and human values”  Viswajyothi  has  become a center of excellence in professional education in India . The college is situated  in a sprawling  campus of 26 acres nestled among the lush greenery  over a hillock, spreading over 4 blocks A,B,C and D in a rural environment, on the side of State High way No.8 at Vazhakulam   about 6 kms from Muvattupuzha   en route  to Thodupuzha . In addition to the  Six B.Tech  programmes in  Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil branches  it offers three M. Tech  Programmes in   Electronics,  Computer Science and Mechanical streams. The P. G programme in Business Administration (MBA) has attracted the  enthusiastic and aspiring youth striving  to become  highly competent professionals in administrative and business  sector.   Excellent results  with top ranks  in the University examinations   indicate the high academic performance of the college. Highly qualified, well experienced, dedicated and hard working faculty is the backbone of the college. Viswajyothi  family  is blessed with 149 eminent teaching faculty  and 85  dedicated technical and supporting staff. Having crossed the first decade, VJCET has developed  an excellent work culture and campus atmosphere which inculcate academic integrity  and accountability among its faculty as well as students. Viswajyothi  is famous for its discipline and Viswajyothi  never fails in discipline. Our laboratories  are exceptionally good and the Central and Department libraries are vast treasures of knowledge with modern e-facilities. The college  has a  dedicated  internet connectivity of  Mbps and   total Wi-Fi campus.

VJCET has an efficient training and placement wing. The high intake of our  best trained students  in industry and IT sector is an indication of the success of our Training and placement cell. Steps have  already been taken to start  a counseling centre as envisaged by AICTE for tackling  cases  that need attention.  With a view to  extracting the latent  potentials of the young scientific mind  an R&D Center is  set up under the leadership of eminent researchers. This is a platform for the young professionals to exhibit their technical skills ,scientific knowledge and  innovative mind. An excellent gymnasium and facilities for indoor and outdoor  games  exist for the use of faculty and students.

Viswajyothi  is one of the few Engineering colleges with  hostel facilities for  both  men and women. There are separate wings for PG students. The men’s hostel is  run under the supervision of Catholic priests and women’s hostel by catholic  nuns.  College buses   ply  in different remote locations to provide  conveyance for day scholars.

As  envisaged  in our mission  we guide and mould our students  to attain intellectual and professional competence  for successfully coping with the rapid and challenging advancements in technologies and the ever changing world of business , industry and services. Also we strive to cultivate a sense of social  and civic responsibility  in our students empowering them to serve humanity.
